The Collins College's Team of Internationally Recognized Faculty Welcomes a New Member

 

Michelle (Myongjee) Yoo was welcomed to the college’s group of esteemed faculty this fall. Her area of specialty is hospitality marketing and she teaches Hospitality Marketing Management.

 

Prior to Cal Poly Pomona, Yoo taught at the Florida International University (FIU) as an assistant professor. She holds a B.S. in Hotel Administration from Kyunghee University, Seoul Korea, and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Hotel Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

 

Yoo has worked in strategic marketing, database marketing, loyalty marketing and casino marketing departments at companies such as the Ritz Carlton and the Venetian in both the Asian and U.S. markets. Due to her professional background, she is specifically interested in conducting applied research by incorporating different theories with a mixture of data mining techniques.

 

Dr. Yoo’s research interest areas include strategic marketing, customer relationship marketing, and database marketing in the hospitality industry. Specifically, her main research interests include a variety of topics related to customer loyalty and consumer behavior. She has been serving as an ad hoc reviewer on peer-reviewed hospitality journals and conference committees since 2009. Additionally, she has presented or proceeded in multiple renowned refereed hospitality conferences both domestically and internationally.
